Did Marathonbet close or become Mbet?
The operator’s international homepage states that Marathonbet changed its name to Mbet in 2026 and introduced an updated website and mobile app. Its FAQ calls Mbet a direct continuation of Marathonbet, rather than an unrelated new bookmaker or a confirmed business closure. A change in trading name is not, by itself, proof that the customer contract, every regulated licence or all market permissions stayed identical. Those details must be checked for the exact jurisdiction and domain.
What happens to an existing account and bet history?
Mbet’s FAQ says customers can view their bets and the state of each selection under Bet History. The current terms also describe separate transaction and login-history sections, the balance shown after sign-in, and ways to recover forgotten passwords. These statements support continuity of customer records, but we have not independently tested individual account migrations. An existing user with a missing balance, an unsettled bet or a login failure should preserve pre- and post-rebrand statements and contact official support rather than opening a duplicate account. The operator explicitly says one person may maintain only one verified account.
Operating company, payment agent and licence scope
The international marathonbet.com terms identify Happy Octopus Limitada, Costa Rica company number 3-102-925627, as the contracting entity, and refer to Anjouan licence ALSI 202505026-FI2. Payments are stated to be processed by Pangate Ltd as payment agent. These are operator disclosures, not proof of authorisation in every territory. The homepage also describes activity in multiple regulated countries, but jurisdiction-specific entities and registered domains must be checked separately. Spain’s DGOJ, for example, records Marathonbet Spain S.A. and the domains marathonbet.es, maratonbet.es and mbet.es; its listing also records termination of a general betting licence in July 2025. Do not equate that Spanish record with the separate international Anjouan licence.
Withdrawals, identity checks and complaint procedure
A new logo cannot guarantee that a withdrawal will be processed faster or that KYC requirements disappear. Mbet’s terms assign balances, account management, withdrawal terms and disputes to the operator’s published rules. Under section 6.10, customer complaints must be raised by the registered player; the rules describe a six-month time limit after settlement for relevant betting disputes, an acknowledgement target of 72 hours and a response target of 30 calendar days. These are published operator policies, not independent evidence that every dispute will be resolved within those periods.
What former Marathonbet users should verify
Check the jurisdiction-specific legal name, precise service domain and official customer communications. Compare your recorded balance, bonus conditions, open wagers, transaction reference numbers and account history with earlier statements. Keep screenshots and emails if something does not match. Avoid unofficial mirror domains, lookalike apps, fake support agents and claims that a second account is required to transfer funds. Never provide credentials or identity documents through an unverified message.
Verdict: a rebrand, not a universal licence guarantee
As of 6 November 2026, the international operator identifies Mbet as its Marathonbet successor. Public source material supports a brand and interface change and continued account-management functionality, but our editorial team has not independently reconciled individual balances or confirmed every country-specific licence. BetVerity is reporting facts and practical verification steps, not endorsing gambling, guaranteeing payments or inviting users in prohibited markets to sign up.
